A stranger in the mirror

I am

the softest light

and

the darkest fire.

I love

like wildflowers

grow—

with reckless beauty.

but hurt

the ones I love

and I swear—

I see a stranger

in the mirror

with my eyes

and a demon

in hers.

I do not act

but

God,

sometimes

it takes everything

not to.

and maybe

that’s what makes me

dangerous—

not that I break

but

how hard I fight

not to.
